The Big Idea
Storytelling is something that fascinates me. Probably because I find myself at a strange cross section of its practice. At once I love rich and deep detail within my written stories but tend to find myself telling barebones hard cold facts stories in person (something I am trying to work on).

Interesting Articles on Storytelling
I have really started to like what Martin Shaw has to say about storytelling. I find myself realizing that the kind of stories he tells are the ones I have been looking for but didn’t know how to find.
Especially his assertion that telling stories about Jesus should be like they happened this morning. Because Jesus is about and in the present just as much as he was in those stories.
Here are some of his videos I have found helpful:
- This is his youtube page: Jawbone with Martin Shaw Goes through and does a lot of story telling as well as talking about how it can be used well.
- the making of a storyteller Talks about his opinion about how one becomes a storyteller
- Q and A Session Telling Jesus stories like they happened this morning or to you
- SO, YOU WANT TO BE A STORYTELLER? | The Sense and Matter of Apprenticeship Talks through the practicalities of leaning how to tell stories
Personal notes on stories
To me stories are one of the best ways to present new ideas and learn as I have learned in my creative preaching class in seminary
