The Big Idea

There are many books that talk about the difference between the verbal culture of the Old Testament and our more modern Literary culture. But I think that we have moved on from being primarily literary based to being soundbite based. The largest sharing and communication of information around our culture today is in the from of some kind of short snippet. Be that an image, short paragraph, short video, etc. I think this has deep implications on what we can even communicate effectively. No wonder we have things like echo chambers and polarization when the majority of people communicate with terse styles and formats. How much have we trained ourselves to be unable to slow down and consider things in a different way?
