The Big Idea
It seems to me that a lot of teaching in the church and school have slowly devolved into concern about people having encountered “content.” Almost as if the right content flashes before our eyes and consciousness then we will know and be the right kind of person. But the idea of literacy seems to be an art that is much harder to teach but when it is taught trains individuals that do not only know random particles of information but actually have a working understanding and functional mastery of a subject.
