The Big Idea
I do not think I buy the idea that the human soul is eternal as a feature of itself. It is a last human nicety to think that even in death we have some kind of control because our soul will not die.
I think that the only thing that keeps out soul alive is the creator. He made us body and soul. He sustains us body and soul until the time we die. The ONLY thing that continues our existence is the will of the Father to raise all people from the dead. It is His work and sustenance all the way through in life and in death and in resurrection. There is no time or state of human existence in our out of eternity that is not directly created and sustained by Jesus.
