The Big Idea
Initial Stabilization
- Change as little as possible. Allow the system to cool off and equalize.
- Simplify things when possible to make it easier to handle for staff.
- Focus on just making sure everything is running. Not worrying about if it is running well - just if it is running.
Vision Preschool and Church Ethos
- Identify all of the things that the Preschool and Church should value and do
Important! This is not concerned with how we implement any of this yet. We are just starting with creating a clear picture of what we should value first.
- The mission statement is a good starting place for this. But things need to be elaborated to enough detail that we know the actual tangible things that are a priority.
For example,
- Teach about Jesus (Remember, not worried about how yet).
- Teach about Prayer.
- Take care of our Teachers.
- Keep the kids safe.
- Etc.
Audit the Current State of Things
- Using the picture of what should be valued from the last step, we can systematically go through each aspect of the Preschool and Church to see where things match up or where we are not consistent with our values.
- Create a comprehensive picture of areas for improvement and areas that are doing well that should be strengthened.
Plan of Action
- Nooow we can start talking about what should or should not be done in order to start moving toward the hoped for harmony between the Church and the Preschool as well as the core mission of sharing Jesus with the Kids and their families.
