Snap! The fetters charged to hold firm this world fail – reality is lost in light.
Eyes see yet closed, or do eyes see at all? Crisp haze covers all.
Love bleeds through the air and whispers, “come.”
What can be said? No sound but a voice, no sight but a scene,My mind conceives but cannot understand. Love calls again:
“Come my son; come see sights from above.”
What are these sights Lord? Can words wrap them in wondrous clothes?
Nay, words dress them dank and dull their hue. Love speaks louder still:
No words… love’s voice is loudest in silence.
The earth speaks at love’s command and bends to its Creator’s hand.
Aspen tree groves stand strait like sleek white pillars in His estate.
I feel (or do I hear) something coming,
But it is not yet here. The sun smiles on through leafy green bows,
Stars take their turn dispelling darkness, like jewels on Heaven’s crown.
These are but love’s soft voice in earth’s vast frame.
A pulse now grabs the air; it stirs the woods - they quiver, shiver,
The time grows nigh as He approaches – peace shimmers bright,
My little voice cries: “Holy Spirit, come.”
Aspen branches bend and bow the winds swirl thither – now hither.
Earthly laws mean nothing now; I stand in awe, my heart amazed:
“Jesus, true Jesus, I ask you to come.”
Heaven’s warm breath swells, sways, love gushes over this little place,
Eternity breaths into time and space – peaceful power flows.
“Come, Father God, come in this place to dwell.”
Veins fill with blood, yet more now tingles thorough this mortal frame:
Seeing the unreachable, feeling the imperceivable.
Alas it melts and earth reclaims its captive,
This minute spent in my Master’s arms moves into mental stores.
Call it a vision, call it a dream, the time will come when it is reality.
